If you believe it, then do it.
For me, at least at a very personal level, I do what I believe.
I resigned from my last company since I had to do things I believe was a wrong approach, not effective and efficient, could cost the company, and off the track from the original principle (I’m talking about a research project).
I do believe those thing could’ve been better and I wanna do what’s right for my users and visitors (I’m talking about how to run a research project).
But after several attempts, I still can’t.
I questioned everything to get the answer. From something fundamental to everything that’s tactical. The result? It’s not that worth it. Why would I went through a highly stressful environment only for a sum of money?
Do I need money? Fuck yes. I won’t fight to replace capitalism with something else so I need money.
But I can’t do what I believe so why the fuck?
Let’s find a better way, with better risk and reward I said back then.
Here I am. No longer an office worker after almost 2 years, hustling to build shit, taking the risk before things get harder, making progress to what I really wanna do so bad: doing what I believe.
My suggestion, if you believe in something please question it. Not to criticize, but to understand. What you believe will now have a true meaning; an answer of your (might be a lifetime) searching.
Best part? You will respect, even encourage people around you to do and keep doing what they believe.
